Services include activities for children up to five years, parent-infant relationship and perinatal mental health support

A new ‘family hub’ has been opened in the heart of Wood Green.
Located at the Rising Green Youth Hub in Wood Green High Road, Wood Green Family Hub marks the fourth and final opening of the council’s £3.4million family hubs programme.
The facility brings together a wide range of essential resources and offers “universal and targeted services” to parents, carers, children and young people.
Services include activities for children up to five years, parent-infant relationship and perinatal mental health support, health visiting services, infant feeding support and speech and language development initiatives.
Collaborating with Woodside Children’s Centre, Stuart Crescent Health Centre and Wood Green Library, the sites together deliver “comprehensive support to meet families’ diverse needs within a single, unified space”.
Each of Haringey Council’s family hubs provide a universal ‘front door’ to services, acting as a “one-stop shop for social care, education, and mental and physical health support”.
Zena Brabazon, the council’s cabinet member for children, schools and families, said: “Every child in our borough deserves the best possible start in life, and we are dedicated to supporting them every step of the way. We also recognise the vital role of providing enhanced support for parents, both individually and alongside their children.
“The new family hub in Wood Green exemplifies our commitment to creating accessible, inclusive, and impactful services for all Haringey residents. It offers a warm and welcoming space where families can access the essential support they need.
“The success of our existing family hubs has already demonstrated their positive impact on our community. We are confident that this additional hub will build on that success, providing much-needed resources to help parents and children lead happy, healthy lives.”
The opening follows Haringey’s first three family hubs being opened at The Triangle in Tottenham, Muswell Hill Centre, and Eric Allin Centre in Northumberland Park.
