The victim of a fatal collision in Tottenham on Friday (3rd) has been named as 19-year-old Marcus Fakana.

At around 12.52am on Friday morning police officers attempted to apprehend a car. Following a short pursuit of approximately 60 seconds, they lost sight of the vehicle, but soon found it had been involved in a road traffic collision with a truck.

Marcus was a passenger in the car. He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

The driver, a man also aged 19, was arrested after the collision. Marwaan Mohamed Huseen, aged 19 and of Argyle Road, Tottenham, has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and failing to stop.

Marcus made national news last year when he was jailed in Dubai, although he was released three months ago following a campaign by his family.

The Met’s directorate of professional standards was informed about the incident, as was the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Please call police on 101 referencing CAD 214/03OCT with any information. To remain completely anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
