The event celebrates the work of local ‘namer of clouds’ Luke Howard, reports Olivia Opara

A local event in celebration of cloud appreciation day and the ‘father of urban climate science’ will return to Tottenham for its second year.
On Saturday, 16th September, Tottenham Clouds is hosting an all-day event in celebration of Cloud Appreciation Day 2023 and the work of Luke Howard, nicknamed the ‘father of urban climate science’ and the ‘namer of clouds’. Luke Howard, whose 250th anniversary was commemorated last year, lived in Tottenham and pioneered the cloud classification scheme which provides a universally recognisable visual description of cloud types.
Throughout the day, there will be a range of cloud-related activities such as a Luke Howard exhibition which will comprise photographs of clouds curated within the Memory Cloud Atlas; a workshop on an introduction to the naming and formation of clouds; and a performance.
The event will take place at the Lordship Hub. To find out more visit Tottenham Clouds.
