Tottenham music venue to appear on Channel 5 News

The Post Bar will be talking about their battle to keep live music alive at their venue

A Tottenham music venue is set to appear on Channel 5 News today (1st March).

The Post Bar has said it will feature on the station talking about its current struggle to keep live music in its programme. The venue launched a crowdfunder last week.

A spokesperson for The Post Bar commented: “We’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response we’ve received so far. While things have slowed down a bit, we’re hopeful that with two weeks left, we can intensify our efforts to reach our target. This will enable us to resume booking music events and sustain our operations. The support we’ve received from near and far has been phenomenal, and it’s heartwarming to see familiar faces returning to the bar.

“In recent developments, Camilo, Frankie, and Gatita had the opportunity to speak with Channel 5 News about our challenges, shedding light on the struggles faced by our fellow venues. They also highlighted the Music Venues Campaign’s efforts to urge the government to reduce VAT on gig tickets.”

They also added: “Additionally, Michela had a productive meeting with the council this morning, exploring potential avenues of assistance. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for positive outcomes.”
