Linda Gyamfi from Tottenham is competing in a competition which showcases “beauty that shines from within“

My name is Linda Gyamfi, I’m from Tottenham, North London. I describe myself as a little woman with big dreams and an advocate for youth and women empowerment.

My passion has led me to form a charity, Succeed 2 The Max, which champions young people to define success on their terms and enable them to be CEOs of their career destiny.

I’m also very pleased to announce that I’ve now been selected as a Miss/Mrs Africa UK/IE Finalist and I look forward to seeing how the journey unfolds.

This is a journey along with the other beautiful, sophisticated and women from all over the UK and Ireland. Once selected, the finalists attend virtual workshops to help them prepare for the journey ahead.

Miss/Mrs Africa UK/IE does away with the ideals that do not match real women, but instead showcase true beauty that shines from within and celebrate every woman in her uniqueness. It is not a standard beauty pageant, but a real-life showcase of women in the UK and Ireland.

It is the first and only Miss/Mrs Africa UK/IE pageant and is ready to compete alongside other leading brands in the industry. It is redefining the way beauty is often defined in beauty pageants and dispelling the age-long notion that beauty pageants are reserved for less intelligent women with only physical attributes to show.

The platform is looking and promoting more than the physical appearance and incorporates the wholesomeness (all sizes, shapes, heights, etc.) of a woman and looks at things such as character, impact to the community and how a woman’s stand in the community builds the future.

Gone are the stereotypes that do not match the individuals, bearing the burden of a crown of ideals being placed upon their heads diminishing the power of their womanhood to the stigma of unattainable beauty.

The programme was created for African women, aged 30-plus and based in the UK and Ireland. These are women who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors on a global scale. The opportunities and platform that have been created for Miss/Mrs Africa UK/IE entrants are significant in every way and truly creates a ripple effect across our beautiful country.

Through the journey of Miss/Mrs Africa UK/IE, women find themselves again and learn that they are never too old to follow their dreams and become voices of change.
