Among the scheduled activities will be theatre productions, masterclasses, West End theatre trips and children’s summer theatre
A local youth charity and a performing arts organisation has announced its “ambitious” summer programme for disadvantaged children and young people.
Amongst Haringey Shed’s scheduled activities will be theatre productions, masterclasses, West End theatre trips and children’s summer theatre.
A youth summer theatre production, Letter To My Future Self, is a two-week intergenerational project that brings young and elderly participants together to collaborate with other creative arts organisations such to co-create the performance. Directed by Rona Namudu, the production will combine poetry of Yomi Sobe, music by Terry Tetteh-Martey, acting and dancing. The end result will be performed at Haringey Irish Centre on Friday, 16th August, at 2pm.
Meanwhile, Children’s Summer Theatre is a five-day project inspired by Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Together with the directors, Ibrahim Sesay and Sam Bacon, children will work together on scenes, create original songs and dance. Their production, The Final Hurdle, will be performed at Haringey Sixth Form Centre on Friday, 2nd August, at 3pm.
