A North London author is launching his latest book in Turnpike Lane later this month.

Stephen Cox is hosting an event to celebrate the completion of his fifth novel, The Crooked Medium’s Guide to Terror, at All Good Bookshop from 7pm on Saturday, 19th September.

It follows the success of his previous book, The Crooked Medium’s Guide to Murder last year.

Stephen joined the longstanding bookshop writing group in an earlier incarnation, and he is a founder member of the All Good Bookshop co-operative. He sees the creative hub around the shop as an “antidote to the mass-produced and banal”.

Regarding his latest book, Stephen says: “These are queer, spooky, Victorian mysteries with two older women heroines at odds with Victorian morality. Readers praise the extraordinary characters, the twisty plots and the immersive settings. They’re warm and witty, but not cosy.”

Stephen is also a campaigner for creative rights and against the influence of artificial intelligence in the publishing industry.
