Family-friendly event in Wood Green promises ‘fun with numbers’

Visitors will be helped to build their confidence with numbers and learn about free local courses

A Wood Green workshop and family-friendly event aims to help people get to grips with the numbers they use in everyday life.

Aimed at people who feel nervous or anxious around numbers, whether it’s tips and tricks to manage household finances, advice on how to help children with numbers or boosting your skills for work, the organisers want people to know they are “not alone”.

“We believe with the right support, anyone, at any age, can become confident with numbers,” say the organisers of London Multiply Roadshow, which is coming to The Mall in Wood Green on Wednesday, 14th August, and is backed by the mayor of London.

There will be family-friendly activities, including a “smoothie bike challenge” and “fun number crafting games”. Visitors will be helped to build their confidence with numbers and learn about free local courses.

The event is free to attend between 10am and 3pm, with no booking required.

London’s deputy mayor for business and growth, Howard Dawber, is encouraging residents to take their first steps towards improving their numeracy confidence and skills by visiting The Mall Wood Green on 14th August.

She said: “Helping Londoners to boost their numeracy skills can transform lives, from getting good jobs to being able to manage household budgets.

“Following a successful series of events earlier in the year, the Mayor’s London Multiply Roadshow is returning this summer. By running free, fun events like this across the city, we can help more Londoners to develop the essential skills they need to progress into further learning or good work, and access exciting new opportunities – helping to build a better, more prosperous London for all.”
