Haringey’s Bulgarian Roma community are being invited to a health and wellbeing event in Tottenham next month.

Bulgarian Roma living in Haringey can access free healthcare advice, employment and learning support, carer advice, immigration and benefits advice, plus free food, refreshments and children’s activities at the event taking place at Northumberland Park Neighbourhood Resource Centre, from 1pm-4pm, on Friday, 1st November.

The community celebration is being hosted by Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey Mental Health Trust in collaboration with the Bulgarian Centre for Social Integration and Culture.

The event offers music, food, health checks, and advice on local services, supporting Bulgarian Roma families, especially school-age children who take on adult responsibilities like navigating services and translating for their families. These challenges, along with isolation and socio-economic stresses, affect their health, school attendance, and achievement.

With stalls, interpreters (Turkish and Bulgarian), plus presentations, it will provide practical help in a welcoming environment. Schools can support by sharing the event with parents or posting flyers with information.
