A community group recently took part in a litter-picking session to help clean up a South Tottenham park, writes Emma Archibald

Every Monday morning the St Ann’s Walk and Talk group meets in Chestnuts Park to begin the week with fresh air, exercise, and good conversation.
Last week, however, we did more!
In collaboration with Go Green Haringey, our group dedicated our walk to a litter-pick, helping to keep our local park clean and green. In just one hour, we collected 15 bags of litter, making a noticeable difference to the space we all enjoy.
A big thank you to Robert from Go Green Haringey, who shared valuable insights on the importance of recycling and reducing food waste. His talk reminded us that small actions—like properly sorting waste and being mindful of food consumption—can have a big impact on our environment.
It was a great way to combine exercise, community pride, and environmental action!
If you’d like to join us for future walks (and occasional litter picks), come along on Monday mornings at 7.30am—we’d love to see you there!
Together, we can make a difference.
