A Haringey artist is celebrating the places that make the borough unique with a new exhibition of original paintings.

Simon Pasquill’s new exhibition, Local Interest, will be running for two months at Brouhaha Bar in Green Lanes, starting from Thursday, 22nd October.

Simon’s art captures the character, history and atmosphere of the area, and his latest exhibition will showcase his collection of acrylic paintings inspired by the buildings and hidden corners of Haringey, transforming everyday locations into colourful works of art.

It is based around the idea that interesting places can be more than just the local landmark buildings.

“I love living in Haringey and I’ve been here now for 28 years. I’ve seen quite a few changes over the years, and I’ve really got to know it well,” the artist explained.

“I wanted to paint what I think is interesting. I’m avoiding most of the obvious sites for now. I like the urban look. I also like how these places can mean something different to everyone.”

The exhibition will feature original paintings, all of which will be available for sale, alongside prints of the works. This gives local residents the opportunity to own a piece of Haringey, while allowing people further afield to enjoy and share the character of the borough.

Simon’s work combines expressive colour, lighting, atmosphere and a strong sense of place, creating paintings that celebrate the personality of North London.

Local Interest is running from 22nd October to 18th December at Brouhaha Bar, 501 Green Lanes, Harringay N4 1AL. Opening times are 4pm-10.30pm each day and the exhibition is free to enter. For more information:
