Finsbury Park theatre set to be ‘great location for comedy’

Sara Barron, Rob Auton, Iain Stirling and Nic Sampson are leading a new dedicated comedy line-up

A Finsbury Park theatre has launched a brand-new programme dedicated to comedy.

Featuring major shows, Edinburgh Fringe previews, mixed bill shows (dubbed ‘Park Laughs Sundays’) and children’s shows, Park Theatre has launched the programme in the hopes of attracting “broader audiences”.

The initial line-up includes a major show from Estonian humourist Julia Masli, whose show ha ha ha ha ha ha ha won a number of awards at the Edinburgh Fringe last year.

The theatre will also host Fringe previews from Sara Barron, Rob Auton, Iain Stirling, Nic Sampson, Glenn Moore and Bella Hull. The stand-up and comedy shows will take place in the theatre’s Park200 and the intimate Park90 spaces.

The programme has been introduced by new executive director Catherine McKinney, who joined Park Theatre in late 2023.

Catherine commented: “Park Theatre has two beautiful performance spaces, and it’s exciting to open them up for more shows alongside our fantastic theatre programme, and to broader audiences. Finsbury Park is a great location for comedy, and Park90 is a perfect, intimate space for new work and previews.”
