The local youth theatre group is putting on a magical show at Bernie Grant Arts Centre later this month

A local youth drama charity is staging a magical show about a group of friends discovering “wonderous worlds” while also trying to solve global problems.
The latest original production from Haringey Shed, The Dream Machine, is showing at Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham on Saturday, 18th May, at 2.30pm and 5pm.
Directed by Aran Cherkez and with music by Terry Tetteh-Martey, the play tells the story of a group of curious friends who stumble upon a magical box in the park. When they peek inside, it whisks them into incredible journeys – under the sparkling ocean, among the twinkling stars of space, and deep into the heart of a jungle.
But the magic takes a turn. When they try to revisit these wondrous worlds, they discover the box has changed. Now, it only reveals the world’s problems. Can they work together to solve these real-world challenges and rediscover the magic within?
Haringey Shed’s children and youth theatre groups meet every week to explore ideas and devise their own original productions. The company is supported onstage and backstage by a team of creative practitioners and volunteers.
Over the Easter holidays the charity’s young people worked with Emergency Exit Arts to create all the props for the show.
To support the local community, Haringey Shed is now operating a ‘pay what you can’ scheme for all performances, events and membership. Audiences can then pay above or below a ‘recommended price’ depending on their ability to pay.
