Wood Green and Alexandra Palace will be hosting a range of events, workshops and installations throughout June to celebrate the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2024.

The London Festival of Architecture is an annual month-long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place across London. Haringey Council and Alexandra Palace have joined together to be part of the new neighbourhood programme that forms part of the festival. This programme spotlights hyperlocal creativity and heritage, celebrating the distinctiveness of these neighbourhoods and the people who are shaping them.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Re-imagine’ which will explore how people can reflect on and rethink public spaces in a time of climate change, cost of living crisis and social inequality.

Events in Wood Green and at Alexandra Palace will include tours, photo exhibitions, podcasts, panel discussions and specially curated live music performances. They are open to all and aim to showcase this unique part of the borough and how both Wood Green and the palace are being reimagined to provide people access to arts, community, culture, youth space and much, much more.

Ruth Gordon, cabinet member for housebuilding, placemaking and the local economy, said: “The London Festival of Architecture is a great opportunity for visitors from across London and beyond to explore our ‘Rebel Borough’. Attendees will get a taste of what’s to come when we are ‘Borough of Culture’ in 2027 and find out more about our ambitious plans for Wood Green.

“The theme of this year’s festival – ‘Re-imagine’ – resonates strongly with us. Wood Green has a new vision for the area called ‘Shaping Wood Green’. Co-produced by Haringey Council and local communities, it reconsiders places and spaces, building on the character and diversity of the people who live and work in Wood Green.

“In partnership with Alexandra Palace, we’ll be showcasing the work of so many important local partners and community groups, who are all helping to shape Wood Green at the festival. This is another great example of the cultural offer in Haringey, and I would urge everyone to be involved.”
