The climax of North London Hospice’s art trail will see 30 uniquely painted owls brought together for the final time next week

A collection of artistic owl statues will be reunited and put on display next week in Tottenham Hale following months spent dotted around the borough as part of an art trail.
Over eight weeks this summer, the ‘Big Fun Art Adventure’ has captured the imagination of more than 10,000 people as they took to the streets and parks of Haringey searching for 30 uniquely painted giant owls and 22 baby ones.
Organised by North London Hospice to help raise vital funds for the charity, it has been a “hugely popular” public event. Now the hospice is bringing all the beautiful owls together to be enjoyed in one place for the first and last time before they go to auction on 7th November.
With a week of activities planned to provide fun for all the family, the owls will be on display throughout half term from 26th October to 1st November at Hale Village.
Each painted by a different local artist, everyone has their favourite owl. Tottenham and Arsenal football supporters will want a photo with their club’s themed and signed owls.
Fans of TV personality, Matt Lucas, will love posing with his brightly coloured owl while followers of children’s author Rob Biddulph can come and meet his owl character, Eugene, off the page and larger than life.
North London Hospice, which serves the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey communities, as well as providing some services in Camden and Islington, picked owls because they are known for their wisdom and kindness. Hospice staff, like owls, also work through the night supporting patients and healthcare professionals, providing free end-of-life care.
The adventure trail and its auction will help the charity to raise much-needed funds to meet its annual running costs of more than £16million. The auction will be held inside the W Club at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on the evening of 7th November and hosted by an auctioneer from the world famous auction house Christie’s.
Anyone interested in bidding to own an owl, should email [email protected] by Friday, 1st November.
Grant Morgan, father of 22-year-old Jack Morgan who was cared for at North London Hospice, has called on residents and visitors to London to support the Big Fun Art Adventure. Grant said: “Jack was diagnosed with an incredibly rare cancer and our family experienced the exceptional care and devotion of the hospice.
“Dr Jo Brady was a phenomenal support and shining light to us all during those very dark days, and for that, we shall be forever grateful. We will always remember the support the hospice provided. The team were there for us when we needed them.”
Tickets are free to next week’s event but residents are encouraged to pre-book their slot:
