Haringey is continuing to mark Women’s History Month this March with a series of upcoming events.

There are two ‘meet the author’ events at Hornsey Library, where Greta Sykes will be launching her new book Eve Meets Dante – “a profound exploration of the intersections between mythology, history and gender” – this Friday (14th) from 5pm-6:30pm.

Christy Lefteri – author of the hugely successful The Beekeeper of Aleppo – will also be giving a talk there later this month on Tuesday 25th, from 1.30pm-2.30pm. Book a place to hear from Christy, whose award-winning work often explores themes of displacement, identity and the human condition.

As well as the author talks and book launches, there are loads of arts and craft activities for children aged four to twelve at St Ann’s Library (Saturdays 10.30am-12pm) and story-time sessions at Alexandra Park Library (Mondays 10.30am-11am).

There are also women-themed wellness and art therapy workshops at Coombes Croft Library (Wednesdays, 11am-1pm) and community art workshops at Marcus Garvey Library (Thursdays, 2pm-4pm).

With Mother’s Day on 30th March this year, children can make their own card at Hornsey Library (Friday 28th, 4pm-5pm), Coombes Croft Library (Saturday 29th, 11am-12pm, or Marcus Garvey Library (Saturday 29th, 10.30am-11.30am).

There will be a special Mother’s Day story-time session as well at Hornsey Library on Tuesday 25th, 10.30am-11am.
