A new programme of workshops on how to tackle climate change at home are running at The Trampery in Tottenham this summer.

The workshops are run by the Tottenham Creative Climate Collaborative (TC3), a new social enterprise founded by three Tottenham residents.

The workshops will combine hands-on art activities and live science experiments and will be led by experts in arts, science and sustainability.

TC3 aim to build climate resilience for Tottenham, which they claim is “one of the most vulnerable communities in London to the impacts of climate change”.

This is because Haringey as a whole has a poverty rate of 34% according to Trust for London, with the London Climate Resilience Review Interim Report (2024) highlighting that low-income Londoners are significantly more vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

Tottenham MP David Lammy, who is also deputy prime minister, said “TC3’s work is exactly the sort of engagement we need in order to reach the target of net zero. [Offering] a program of art, music, health and environment workshops in the heart of
Tottenham, TC3 acts as a blueprint for positive climate action around the country.”

The workshops are being led by Dr Jonny Groome, a consultant in paediatric anaesthesia at the Royal Free London Hospital and honorary associate professor of sustainability at University College London, as well as Alice White, an artist and tutor at University of the Arts London.

The programme is funded by the Bupa Foundation and run in partnership with climate group Real Zero.

Claire Baker-Mosley, head of community for the Bupa Foundation, said: “We’re proud to support initiatives like TC3 that bring people together to build healthier, more resilient communities in practical, creative ways. By connecting climate action to everyday life and wellbeing, this programme is helping people feel inspired, confident and able to make a real difference close to home.”

The workshops will be running on Saturday mornings over the summer, at The Trampery in Tottenham High Road. TC3 will also run an end-of-year exhibition in November. The workshops are described as being for both adults and children over the age of seven.
