Haringey Borough played out an eventful draw with Potters Bar Town. The home side twice came from behind to claim a point.

Haringey dominated possession early on but struggled to create clear-cut chances.

Potters Bar Town took the lead in the 7th minute. Haringey gave the ball away and Ben Ward-Cochrane received a though ball and slotted into the bottom corner. Tiernan Parker’s refusal to come off his line gave Ward-Cochrane plenty of time to compose himself for the finish.

Ward-Cochrane limped off injured after this and was replaced by Amine Shoshi.

Potters Bar gained confidence from the goal and started to keep the ball for prolonged periods.

In the 14th minute an under hit back pass from Potters Bar allowed David Olufemi to shoot and his effort was deflected behind for a corner. Mekih Leacock-McLeod played the ball around the corner to Roman Michael-Parch and he was through on goal but he cut back inside and the Potters Bar defence got back to crowd him out. Haringey equalised with 22 minutes on the clock. Alfred Bawling drove to the byline and Tosin was presented with a tap in.

Potters Bar restored the lead from the restart. Minutes later Parker missed the ball and was fortunate to narrowly avoid contact with Devonte Arinisbia in the penalty area.

With 36th minutes on the clock Haringey failed to clear a corner and Joseph Roachie sent his effort just over the bar. Potters Bar were content to sit back and hit the home side on the counter.

Haringey almost equalised late into the first half when a corner was flicked on from Adeyinka Cole to Tyrese Owen, who headed straight at Hafed Al-Droubi.

Minutes into the second 45 Maxwell Delyfer’s shot hit the post.

Haringey gave the ball away trying to play out of their own penalty area and Samson Esau curled his effort wide.

On the hour mark Leacock-McLeod was played in behind and hit a shot from a narrow angle that nestled into the side netting.

The striker then surged down the right flank and picked out substitute Chidubem Onokwai who sent a header onto the crossbar. In the 77th minute Roachie gathered the ball in space and hit a shot that was well off target.

Haringey brought themselves level for the second time in the 81th minute. Following a sequence in which they had several shots blocked Georgios Aresti fired in an effort that took a deflection and wrong-footed Al-Droubi. Haringey almost won it late on when Leacock-McKleod’s shot was tipped over the bar by Al-Droubi.

The home side will be frustrated that they couldn’t secure the victory in a game that they dominated for large periods.

Haringey visit Leatherhead on Saturday.
