Black History Month event at Wolves Lane Centre aims to “strengthen community bonds”, writes Olivia Opara

A free community day in celebration of Black History Month will take place in Wood Green this weekend.
On Sunday (15th) The Ubele Initiative will be hosting a community day as part of its Black History Month celebrations. Throughout the day, there will be a range of activities and workshops such as African and Afro-Caribbean drumming; art workshops for all ages and skills and ‘green skills’ workshops on sustainable living, gardening, and environmental stewardship.
The Ubele Initiative is an African-led community organisation that aims to empower Black and ethnic minority communities in the UK to encourage social and economic change.
The Ubele Initiative said: “Join us in celebrating the rich history and contributions of the Black community during this special month. Let’s come together to strengthen our community bonds and create lasting memories.”
The event will take place at Wolves Lane Centre and is free to attend. To find out more:
