The Trampery in Tottenham is hosting a free music event to commemorate hip hop’s 50th anniversary.

On Thursday, 26th October, The Trampery will be holding a special music event celebrating 50 years of hip hop as part of its wider Black History Month celebrations. The event will also pay homage to Black music culture in Tottenham as well as the influences of hip hop within Tottenham’s wider music and art scene.

The event will be hosted by Tottenham-based DJ, professional dancer and choreographer Vee Swizzle and a number of local artists are set to perform including WondRWomN, Ohno and Backyard Bully.

Hip hop is a subculture and an art movement that began in New York in the early ’70s that has since grown into a worldwide cultural movement that incorporates DJing, MCing, rapping, B-boying (also known as breaking), and visual and graffiti art.

The event is free to attend and will take place from 7pm to 10pm. To book tickets visit Tottenham Sounds X Tottenham Hip Hop Tickets, Thu 26 Oct 2023 at 19:00 | Eventbrite.
