A Tottenham sports venue is celebrating its 50th birthday by hosting a series of free sessions next month.

New River Sports and Fitness in White Hart Lane first opened in 1974 and has a range of indoor and outdoor facilities.

On Saturday, 3rd August, from 10am to 5pm, residents are invited to come along to New River’s fun-filled 50th birthday party as the venue celebrates its past, present and future.

Enjoy a day of fun and fitness with free sports sessions including cycling, football, tennis, cricket, athletics, rugby, a women’s football tournament, mini athletics meet and a fun zone with inflatables and soft play.

There will also be competitions with prizes, like one-to-one sessions, three-month memberships, and more.

New River Sports and Fitness will also unveil a plaque to celebrate the establishment of Haringey Athletics Headquarters in 1973 and rename the grandstand.
