Tottenham Hotspur appoint Ange Postecoglou as new coach

The Australian has now finished his second season at Celtic

Tottenham Hotspur have sealed the deal to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new first team head coach.

The former Celtic coach has just finished his second season with the team, leading them to the Scottish title twice.

The appointment of Postecoglou on a four-year contract follows Antonio Conte’s exit in March, with Cristian Stellini and then Ryan Mason having acted as head coach in the interim. He will become the first Australian to manage a Premier League side.

Daniel Levy, chairman at Hotspur, said: “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our Club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead.”

Postecoglou’s coaching staff are yet to be confirmed.
