Arts events to be held at Broadwater Farm

Organisers of ‘Art at the Farm’ say they aim to celebrate the stories of the estate’s residents, reports Olivia Opara

A series of creative art events will be taking place at Broadwater Farm this winter.

Throughout winter, Broadwater Farm Community Centre is organising and hosting a range of creative art events for residents of the estate. This forms part of a programme, ‘Art at the Farm’, which aims to celebrate the stories of Broadwater Farm residents.

As part of the programme there will also be community workshops on dancing, cooking, gardening and yoga. There will also be a music session hosted by Sound Systems.

The programme started on Saturday, 28th October with a mosaic-making session by mosaic artist Tessa Hunkin. On Saturday, 9th December, there will be a archives and storytelling session at Bruce Castle Museum with a chance for participants to create their own heritage walks. There are also plans for artist-led tours of Tate exhibitions and a Black History walk.
